Sixty Days Out of 365
Rang-o Torang Gallery
The Sixty Project is a sixty-day snapshot of the intellectual and professional lives of a group of painters, mostly born in the late fifties and early sixties (Iranian calendar years). They are tasked with documenting a portion of this sixty-day experience in identical, standardized notebooks. This shared constraint is enough to link them together and offer the viewer a window into their world. The audience, if they choose, can look through the pages of these notebooks to observe the artists’ explorations, efforts, fears, and hopes during this period. They can potentially witness the process of a thought, an idea, or a work of art taking shape from the inside. Like the days of life itself, these pages are sometimes dark and scribbled and other times white and luminous.
