Academic Drawings

Unexhibited

For me, drawing is not merely a foundational skill; it is the most fundamental form of thought, perception, and expression. This collection of academic drawings stands as testament to the belief that any profound and liberating artistic articulation first requires absolute mastery of structure, volume, and anatomy. Drawing is the artist’s primary language. Through charcoal and intense contrasts, the inner world is revealed without mediation. The repeated study of the figure, the entangled portraits, and the bodies under pressure is not a mere exercise, but a continuous exploration into the complexity of the mind and body.
These drawings constitute the firm and vital backbone upon which my Expressionist paintings are built. They derive their power of expression, audacity in breaking form, and ability to create turbulent worlds directly from a deep understanding of primary principles. From this perspective, drawing is the continuous breath and the very spine of my art.
