The study of the evolution of the concept of beauty and the artistic work, and its relationship with philosophical ideas found in the works of philosophers, can help us to discover the essence of art and the artistic work. It goes without saying that it is impossible to provide a single definition for art and the work of art, as there is a considerable number of viewpoints. Nevertheless, the study of these thinkers’ ideas helps us to increase our knowledge and discover the strengths of different theories.
